Questionable behavior?
"People learned that customer satisfaction could potentially ruin you if you don't achieve it." -Andrea Gerlin, Staff Reporter for Wall Street Journal Block, and many others, vs McDonald's Corporation was a series of legal cases against McDonald's because they claimed their fries were vegetarian friendly. McDonald's stated in 1990 that they would use vegetable oil to fry their french fries. However, they continued to use beef seasoning on their fries and fried them with meat. Cases continued and McDonald's was sued for $100 million, which was paid to various religious and vegetarian groups. |
Previously, McDonald's coffee had burned various victims. The corporation payed for its victims's hospital fees, but for Mrs. Liebeck, an 81-year-old woman, the corporation refused the requested $800 for medical dues. Liebeck vs McDonald's Corporation was a case that most people sided with McDonald's-- until the gruesome photos of the damage Mrs. Liebeck suffered were released. McDonald's lost, and they were sued for $2.9 million. This required all chains to have a "Caution" label on hot beverages.
